Why We Walk | Minimalist Leather Sandals

The Story Behind Walk with Dada

It started with a pair of tired feet and a realization: the perfect sandal didn’t seem to exist. One that could take us from walking city blocks to catching a flight, from chasing our kids to sipping cocktails at sunset, all without a change of shoes (or a blister in sight).

In 2018, we committed to starting, and we began to sketch. We were dear friends from college first, fashion enthusiasts second, and shoe obsessives always. Over countless conversations, we discussed the gap we saw in the market: affordable sandals that were stylish or comfortable, but rarely both. We wanted to create something different and attainable.

The Design Philosophy

We looked to Dadaism, the early 20th-century art movement that celebrated breaking rules, rejecting the expected, and finding beauty in simplicity. That spirit became our North Star. Our goal wasn’t to reinvent footwear from the ground up; it was to strip away the unnecessary, keep what matters, and make something timeless.

Our Dada sandal is built on three pillars:

  • Versatility – one pair you can wear all day, anywhere.
  • Comfort – high-quality nappa leather that molds to your foot over time.
  • Timelessness – minimal design that feels current now and ten years from now.

Small Batch, Big Belief

We launched Walk with Dada in the summer of 2023 as a self-funded, small-batch brand. Every pair is handcrafted with care, made to last, and designed to be part of your life’s moments, the big ones and the everyday ones.

We believe a good pair of shoes can change the way you feel in your day. They can make you stand taller, walk further, and step into experiences you didn’t plan for.

Walk With Us

This is more than a shoe brand to us. It’s a reminder to live with intention, to find beauty in the simple, and to choose things that last. Whether you’re walking to your corner coffee shop or exploring a city across the world, we’d love for you to walk with us.
